Baxter I heard your podcast on “Oh Behave!” a few days ago and was very moved … even more when I went to your website and saw your photos and videos! You sure don’t look like a senior dog to me – there’s so much puppy in that face! And your dog bone pendant is beautiful. Wish I could send you a big hug though I’m sure you’re getting lots of them!

Hi!! my name is Sylvia I am from San Jose, Costa Rica, Central America. Today a friend from Mexico send me a video of Baxter and I was truly touched by it and its story. I am dog lover too, I have three dogs of my own, one I bought for my kids right before their father died, and a therapy for all of us in those dificult moments; one I picked up from the streets after being hit by a car, and it’s the most thankful dog I have ever seen, and an oldie, a 10 year old labrador, a true princess. They are part of our family and I just can’t picture myself without them. They are a true blessing. God bless you for such a wonderful labor of love!!!

I was sent a video from a Delaware Hospice employee about Baxter. I could not stop crying…..he is so precious. I love dogs and I am a Hospice volunteer. Do you mind if I ask why he can’t walk??? He looks so healthy and sweet. I would love to cuddle with him myself.

Saw a video of you Baxter from a friend and you are the most remarkable sweet, loving caring dog. I wish we have one like you here in Adelaide when mum was dying, she loved dogs and would have made her final hours so much less stressful. Keep up the good work. Lomman Family South Australia

I just saw a video about Baxter and it brought so many joyful tears to my eyes. Baxter you truly are an amazingly wonderful Dog. What you do for others is the best therapy out there. I wish there was a local dog like you that was around when my Grandmother could have used some therapy. She had dogs up until she couldn’t take care of them anymore. She would have loved you. Thank you for everything you do! ♥

I was sent a link to see Baxter’s video yesterday and I absolutely have fallen in love, like most of us, with him.
I have had dear friends and family taken care of through hospice, and I know that an animal such as Baxter would have warmed their hearts and souls.
I will be following Baxter and hope that some day I will be able to hug this wonderful animal

Baxter! I just saw your video on Facebook today and I feel in love with you!!! You are definitely my new hero dog! I have an organization called Canine Justice Network here in Cincinnati. We save dogs from kill shelters, educate and advocate. I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I would love 15 mins of cuddle time with you! I just know I wouldn’t have any fear! I just ordered your stuffed toy and really hope that somehow you can “autograph” it for me! I will have it around everytime I feel afraid. I just happened on Baxter’s book in the library and read it in one sitting. I just had to log on to see if Baxter was still in this world since the book was written over 18 months ago. I am so happy that this perfect soul is still alive and dispensing love. God really blessed you, Melissa and Dennis, when he sent Baxter to you and I know that you know that. All 3 of you are angels. I have no doubt about that. Hugs from me and Daisy, my precious 11 year old Beagle.

I love Baxter. I’m wondering whether he is a jindo (they are believed to be related to the Chows…Baxter’s ears and mask from his younger days really looks very jindo-ish). My jindo dog, Marvin and I used to visit a nursing home to see my Grandma Sophie. Marvin was very good with all the residents there. The first time Marvin and I went to the nursing home, we were rushed by at least 12 residents and there was a huge crowd around us. They just wanted to touch him and many of them spoke of how they had dogs their entire lives. The experience really moved me. Keep up all the good work Baxter!

Baxter! What an inspiration you are and what a mommy you have to see in you your God giving purpose! I just saw your video and was so moved….I like many of your fans, am a dog lover and have two precious ones, Callie and Phoebe and have had more that are no longer with me but love them and miss them the same. There is nothing like the unconditional love our pets have for us and others, if only we humans could do that too! Blessings to both of you for the lives you are touching! Many hugs and kisses too!

I just had to write and tell you how Baxter has had a huge impact on me and my dog Cody. Cody is a 10yr old female German Shepard who use to be a Therapy dog. She has some vision problems and arthritis so about a year ago when I retired, I retired her. I think it was a big mistake. She loves people and love elderly especially. She has such a tremendous instinct for peoples needs and limitations. Since she and I have both retired we seem to be “lost”. I’m not sure that is really the word for what I have been feeling but it seems to fit how she has been. So when a friend posted your short video on my Facebook page I realized that Cody and I both need to go back to work. I am going to take her to get her certification updated and we are going to go back to work. I am sure that when see realizes what we are doing she will be the happy puppy I know she can be.
Thank you Baxter for all you do and for what you have dome for us.

Baxter – you and your mom have touched my life. I’ve always believed that dogs are special gifts from God…afterall – that’s your name backwards.
We have recently rescued our second dog and after watching your video, I have realized that patience is the key to loving your animals and life. It’s an amazing thing you do, Baxter.

Just seeing you is enough to melt hearts because of your adorable appearance…but I love that you want to be more than just a pretty face and a fuzzy wuzzy body to everyone! Baxter you are the most handsome, caring and loving little guy. It is so wonderful when you visit all these people and comfort them. I had watched your video and with Miss Sarah singing it really touched me. I have passed the video on to many friends here in North Carolina. You are very much loved here in NC. I have 2 dogs and I know what a comfort they are to me like when I have had a long day at work but when you see that face and wagging tail it is all worth it. Keep up the good work you are precious 🙂
